I really like the idea of giving a path to citizenship for illegal aliens with the stipulation that they can’t vote or receive government benefits for 25 years. Doesn’t that satisfy the best of both worlds–giving illegals a chance to turn their lives around and become citizens while not adding to an already-out-of-control budget deficit? It takes the politics out of the issue since voting would not be a factor for 25 years.
