Random Thought of the Day

I tried out the DuckDuckGo search engine for the first time, which doesn’t track you or give out your personal info like Google and Facebook (so they claim, anyway). I compared it to Google for a number of searches. For usual stuff such as local business hours, how-to videos, movie reviews, etc., I seemed to get similar results. However, for politics, the results were dramatically different. It was almost as if the Democratic Party had hand picked the results for certain topics on Google. For example, if I searched for Clinton Foundation and Obama IRS targeting scandals, I received basic facts and descriptions on DuckDuckGo. On Google, I received mainly refutation and debunking articles. Most people rarely go past the first page of search results, so this kind of programming bias and censorship is a serious issue.
