Random Thought of the Day
Whenever a school shooting occurs, everyone immediately looks for someone to blame and some easy fix. There simply is NOT a magic, easy solution. These shooting continue to occur for three main reason: 1) The current culture of movies, TV, and video games desensitizes kids to violence, 2) Bullying and teasing arouses the anger and destroys the pride & self-esteem of the shooters, causing them to lash out, 3) Media over-dramatization of past shootings earns nationwide coverage; thus, future shooters seek the same fame and attention.
A complex set of changes would need to be made to solve the problem–a subject for another article. I’ll continue to roll my eyes whenever I hear some simplistic “solution” like banning certain types of guns.

Quote of the Day
I think it’s a shame that the day somebody hears about a shooting, the first thing they think about is, ‘How can I go promote my gun control agenda?’ as opposed to saying, ‘How do I go pray and help the families that are suffering?’ — Steve Scalise
