It’s getting a little ridiculous how the media overplays any mistake a person makes when they want to destroy you. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was or the specific surrounding events. Everyone says and does stupid things, especially when they’re young, drunk, high, tired, or in some other situation when they’re not at their best. Think back to every social media post, email, phone call, speech, letter, paper, picture, or video you’ve ever created in your life. Now add in everything you’ve said or written that could be captured by illegal means; for example, NSA snooping, hidden cameras & recording devices. Can you claim a perfect existence? Can anyone? If a team of highly paid individuals sifted through every inch of your background, could they pick out a few sentences that make you seem racist, sexist, homophobic, violent, or some other characteristic they want to label you with?
