Random Thoughts of the Day

  • Has anyone else notice the riots, BLM rallies, and anti-racism commercials have all stopped? It’s almost as if they were election tools or something? I know the rest of you are just as shocked, SHOCKED as I am.
  • Conservatives & libertarians who follow politics have for many years known about the leftist bias & corruption in the media, Big Tech, comedians, Hollywood, BLM, and the public education system. In the past though they were usually subtle enough that the majority of the sleeping public didn’t really notice. Perhaps the biggest gift Trump gave us is to expose all these people. In the last 4 years, they all effectively said, “Screw all our objectivity and credibility, we’re willing to throw every shred of them away loudly just to get rid of Trump.” There’s no going back now. I believe even 30-40% of Biden voters now know of their left leanings. Trump had his strengths for sure, but I don’t believe he was a truly transformational leader. Now, if such as leader comes along in 2024, the standard leftist big guns pulled out every election cycle will be reduced to pea shooters.
  • Joe Manchin, Democrat of West Virginia, has pledged to vote against packing the Supreme Court. This is probably wise since he is up for re-election in 2022 and comes from a state that voted almost 70 percent for Trump. So even if the Democrats are able to cheat their way to winning the two Georgia Senate runoff elections, the court is safe for the immediate future. I’m sure Democrats will whine after every unconstitutional action of theirs is struck down, but they’re paying for their own mistakes. To refresh your memory, the Senate filibuster on Supreme Court nominations was preserved for almost two centuries, forcing a 60-vote threshold. This was a good thing as it forced compromise, which is especially important for a position like the court that should be as non-political as possible. Harry Reid ended the filibuster so Obama’s far-left judicial nominations could sail through. This came back to bite them as Trump was able to add three conservative Supreme Court justices as well as scores of other federal judges. As I’ve said before, whenever you take more power, eventually an opposing party may have control of that same power.

  1. The rioting has ceased for the most part. It made me reflect on the recent violence on peaceful trump supporters marching in Washington. I find it interesting that in the Code of Federal regulations the definition of terrorism is as follows:
“Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives”.
Is it a stretch for me to compare BLM and ANTIFA as domestic terrorist organizations? And if so, why aren’t they being treated as such?

  2. The public education system is a corrupt, indoctrination tool used to mold the minds and values of students. It also attempts to coerce instructors into a leftist mentality.
Additionally, professors consider it their “duty to tell students how to vote.” That is a direct quote from one of my colleagues when I stated that it was an instructor’s obligation to develop students’ critical thinking skills—not to tell them what to think. Yes, I am a college professor, a staunch conservative, and a woman.
I could go on incessantly about the evils of this system.
