Rush spent much of his time criticizing Ron Paul and his principled positions when he was running for president. Never cared for Rush when he began doing all of that. Ron was pretty much right about everything he warned about, and the republican party would have been a lot better off at this point if folks like Ron Paul and his supporters had been given more of a voice as opposed to the folks Rush gave “support” to.
Today’s posts are spot-on and the totality of them together is incredible! keep up the great work!
P.S. In my humble opinion Rush recognized that Ron Paul was too stubborn in his ideology to be a pragmatic leader.
Pragmatism is how we got where we are (IMO). Dr. Paul never shied away from explaining his position or his principled stands (and he was so well-educated, that he actually could). That is generally NOT the case with most politicians as they truly don’t know why they stand for something other than it is what the polls told them to say or what their campaign donors told them to say, etc. People used to praise Reagan because when he took “unpopular” stands, he would go on TV and explain himself so others would understand the principles behind his decisions (not meant as praise for anything other than that strategy). So while Ron Paul might have not been “pragmatic,” we got McCain and Romney who would just as soon sell out America, all to keep the other side happy. Not seeing how that is better.
