There comes a time when politicians who’ve been in office too long reach a point of no return. Their corruption and donor obligations dissolve all their morals. What makes it so much worse is that they usually build alliances and a voting infrastructure that make them nearly impossible to beat, especially with gerrymandering & other tricks. The ONLY way there will ever be term limits for Congress is if a president makes it a central focus of his/her campaign, making it such a central theme that every senator & representative candidate is bludgeoned to go to record whether they are for/against, subjecting themselves to voter outrage if they give the wrong answer.
