Just Keep Spending – What Could Go Wrong? 🤔
To refresh your memory, when George W. Bush took office in 2001, the national debt was about $5.6 trillion. That took 42 presidents to accumulate while fighting two World Wars, a Great Depression, a Civil War, and so much more. It only took four presidents to multiply that number by six! Biden alone has already matched that $5.6 trillion dollar amount with more than a year to go in his term. The War on Terror, Housing Financial Crisis, and Covid have been used to justify spending increases, but compare those to the existential threats of the Civil War, World War II, and Great Depression! Whatever the justification, the spending levels never go back down after the latest “crisis” has passed. It’s guaranteed that “climate change” will be the next manufactured emergency to explain away unsustainable spending increases. Don’t worry though, they can just print more money. It won’t affect the cost of living or anything. None of you have noticed any such thing so far, have you? 🤔

Great comment on the budget and the economy. Perhaps we need to examine our conspicuous consumerism. Hate to think we may be our worst enemy a la Pogo. Maybe we are spending too much individually leading to some of the challenges we are facing.
It is not conspicuous consumerism that is driving the massive spending. There is no accountability for the politicians. Yes you could vote them out, but rarely that happens. Term limits would be a start with just a stipend for their service and no lifetime pensions, Politicians never bear the pain of their legislation. They take (by force) our money and buy votes. They created agencies that have zero accountability which makes rules and regulations that bypass the legislated process. Any and all of these rules and such should be declared null and void as they were never voted on. Make congress do their jobs.
A balanced budget amendment is needed with it being reduced in actual spending every year until we are back at a realistic and sustainable number.
Cut out any and all grants, close down all redundant departments, reduce/eliminate pensions for members of congress as well as all of government.
Take the power of taxation away. Let the states fund the federal government for the basic job that the founders envisioned.
Yes it’s unbelievable how much money are being passed left and right and when a poor American needs some help there is none. I never imagined America will became like that. Also, I don’t know who’s voting for democrats because they aren’t doing anything for the people as they promised to do. At least Republicans as bad as they are they don’t promise you the moon…I think it’s only a political game they don’t care about the people…we the people.
