Why Not Donate to Government Instead of Charities? 🤔

I’ve heard leftists label libertarians as “selfish” because they don’t want to pay taxes. You can give endless examples like the one above to show that even when government spending is well intentioned, it’s almost always wasted. My guess is the vast majority of the California homeless budget goes to governement salaries and other bureaucratic overhead, with only a tiny sliver going to intended befeficiaries. Maybe I’m being “selfish,” but when I donate money, I’d like to see 100 percent go to the intended recipients. 😱
