I will miss your posts! I retired 7 years ago, after increasing abuse from the Tennessee Valley Authority. My coworkers and I were Project Controls Specialists, working on projects involving coal ash.
We were contractors, mostly living away from home. When the contract was renewed, TVA eliminated living expenses and the travel allowance. The whole group of coworkers retired. I got several attractive offers, but I was, simply, tired. I’ve done some short term consulting, mostly involving various aspects of the nuclear power operation and weapons plant destruction work. All on a work from home basis.
I spent 6 months helping a friend set up a recording studio (I ran my own as a sideline for several years).
