Since the 9/11 attacks, the U.S. has spent roughly $10 trillion dollars on military expenses, almost all of which went to fighting foreign wars and defending other countries. It is absolutely ridiculous that Trump could only get $1.375 billion for a wall to help defend the continental United States, which is only 1.375% of that amount, or 0.3% of the projected $4.41 trillion federal spending in 2019. Trump is declaring a national emergency to get the rest of the funds he needs for the wall, but the true national emergency is the corrupt, useless, traitorous Congress that somehow gets worse every year.

The media has been regularly saying that polls supposedly show Americans don’t want a Mexican border wall constructed, and both Republicans and Democrats accuse each other of playing politics with the government shutdown. My question is, if the polls are so against Trump on this issue, which side is more likely “playing politics?” If Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and so on were FOR the wall, before they were against it, which side is more likely playing political games?

With Donald Trump’s insistence of border wall funding in the next budget, he is in effect establishing his own version of Obama’s “red line”. To refresh your memory, during the Obama presidency, he said to Syria that the use of weapons of mass destruction would cross a “red line” and bring U.S. military intervention. Syria proceeded to use chemical weapons to kill thousands of its own people, after which Obama did nothing. From that point on his credibility disappeared, and any future ultimatums were meaningless. Trump is facing the same situation on border wall funding. If he backs down, all his credibility with his supporters will evaporate, and he will guarantee himself an election defeat.
