Random Thought of the Day
I heard a great analogy today that is very fitting–Trump is the Rodney Dangerfield character in the movie Caddyshack. He’s the obnoxious, unrefined, tell-it-like-it-is outsider who has invaded the uppity Bushwood country club. Bushwood represents the establishment powers’ Washington swamp. The American people are the caddies and other Bushwood workers who are there simply to serve the pampered members of the club. McConnell, Romney, Pelosi, Schumer, Ryan, etc. are represented by Judge Smails, who scoffs at the loud newcomer and says, “Bushwood a dump? Well, I guarantee you’ll never be a member here.” Trump (Dangerfield) answers back, “Member?! Do you think I’d join this crummy snobatorium? Why, this whole place sucks!”, after which Judge Smails tries to choke Dangerfield. Trump’s term of office is like the final golf match, where Judge Smails is cheating to win, and it will probably take a series of explosions for Trump to win the rigged game in the end.
