Random Thought of the Day
Think how much of your current beliefs come from the media rather than personal experience. For example, you might be convinced the American economy isn’t doing well for anyone except the top 1 percent, but you and most people you know are doing ok. You might be convinced racism is a major problem in the U.S., but you’ve never witnessed much of it in your daily life. You might believe most of the world hates America, but how many countries have you visited? How many foreigners have you personally talked with the to get their opinions? So much of our core beliefs rely on what others have told us. In the “fake news” era we live in, how much of our reality is distorted?

Quote of the Day
Many Americans today, just as they did two hundred years ago, feel burdened, stifled, and sometimes even oppressed by government that has grown too large, too bureaucratic, too wasteful, too unresponsive, too uncaring about people and their personal freedom and muzzle the self-expression of the people. — Ronald Reagan
