Why must conservative/libertarian voters fall into the same trap every two years? The media will ignore hundreds of polls that show the unpopularity of the Leftist politicians, then cherry pick a couple heavily-biased ones as evidence of some kind of trend. It’s pure propaganda BS designed to encourage right-leaning voters to stay home. Its goal is to convince common sense Americans they’re in the minority, and the insane world of the Left is somehow popular. Let’s be clear, there WILL be a gigantic red wave in November. And contrary to common belief, it will have little to do with Trump. In fact, Trump’s involvement may slightly hurt prospects simply because he mobilizes hate, energy, and money on the Left like no other politician.

No, the red wave is coming because almost all Republicans running have embraced libertarian/anti-establishment/anti-government platforms, at least publicly, while the Left is charging full speed into the Stalinist/Big Brother/government control of everything world written about in scores of dystopian novels. The difference is especially stark in the Covid era, as Constitutional freedoms have been trampled the past two years unlike any time in American history. The only way Republicans can blow it is if they embrace a squishy Biden-light agenda pushed by the Romney/McConnell wing of the party.

Make no mistake though, if we don’t elect true libertarian-leaning politicians, absolutely nothing will change, other than fact Republicans will share more of the blame for Biden’s disastrous policies, opening up the possibility of another communist dictator in 2024.

It feels pretty good when the party you support wins the presidency, especially when the same party controls Congress. You can hire/fire people in the cabinet, CIA/FBI/NSA, and administrative agencies. You can use executive orders to make new rules you can’t get passed by the legislature. You can start or end wars, make/end international agreements, set trade policies, spend trillions more than we take in as revenue, and do so many other things. Sure, a lot of that power isn’t in the Constitution nor was ever intended to be in the hands of the President, but hey, it’s all for what we support, right? As for voting, we can change rules such as registration requirements, mail-in ballot procedures, and redistricting (i.e. gerrymandering) to keep our party in power. It may be highly unethical, but it helps keep us in power, so the ends justify the means! Now that Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and possibly Chuck Schumer get set to take the leadership reins in 2021, do you see the problem?

Yes, whenever you give more power to the federal government or ignore the unconstitutional taking of more power, eventually you’re going to find yourself in a situation where incompetent or corrupt leaders from another party will be in charge. The same powers you gave your own party can be used to instantly undo everything your president did, and now the new leaders can do far more damage than should be possible. It’s the reason our Founding Fathers put in a system of checks and balances with very specific enumerated powers. I became a libertarian because in the last 20 years, EVERY presidential term I’ve witnessed, the party in power has taken unconstitutional actions, causing the party out of power to loudly complain, then the two would switch roles, with unbelievable face-palm hypocrisy on both sides.

The best way to change the thinking of a socialist is to ask, whenever they propose a new government power or program, “How would you feel if Donald Trump was in control of this?” On the flip side, when the Republicans want some new power, ask “How would you feel if Nancy Pelosi or Kamala Harris controlled this?” It doesn’t matter what new power you want to create. Eventually, the other party or a person you strongly dislike will be charge of it. The same concepts apply to the state level where fascist governors like Cuomo, Newsom, and Whitmer are using Covid to assume dictator-like power. Don’t expect that power to be relinquished once the precedent is allowed.

As a libertarian, I believe the government has no right to regulate or limit anything you do as long as it doesn’t hurt or infringe upon the rights of another person. For example, it’s up to the individual to decide on their own tobacco, pot, and alcohol use as long as they’re not putting others in danger. Then, there’s the emotionally-charged issue of abortion. This is a tough one since government may be regulating a woman’s body, but on the other hand, you’re talking about another living human’s rights also. So the question becomes, when does the line cross between a fertilized egg and viable human being? Hardcore pro-life would say upon fertilization, hardcore pro-choice would say not until the baby is delivered. I’m not sure what the right answer is, but I will say that last trimester abortions are absolutely barbaric, sometimes consisting of delivering a live baby and killing it after it’s out of the womb. Most people don’t know exactly what goes on during one of these abortions, but I encourage you to research it before you take a position on the issue. Related to this matter, I encourage you to watch the movie Gosnell, a true story of a doctor who illegally performed many such procedures. Have you heard of this movie or real life court case? If not, it’s probably because of the intentional media burying of the story, along with censorship of any movie ads (e.g. Facebook prohibits any advertising on it).
