Let’s remember who benefits most from inflation – government. When you inflate currency, the nominal price of everything goes up — groceries, houses, cars, stock prices, and yes, even wages. When profits, salaries, and investment assets go up, guess what? More taxes! Americans are pushed into higher tax brackets, and most taxes are a percentage, so any increase means more money siphoned off to the government. Higher housing value accessments mean more property taxes. When you spend more disposable income on inflated goods, more sales taxes are collected. On top of percentages, many tax deductions and exclusions aren’t indexed for inflation, so they eventually go away. For example, virtually everyone reading this today will pay taxes on your social security benefits. A part-time fast food worker could easily exceed the ridiculous income limits originally imposed to only hit “the rich.” Now Kamala and others on the Left even want to tax unrealized gains, meaning you’d be subject to another annual tax just for owning a stock with inflated values, even if the stock could become worthless at any time. Never trust when they say it will “only apply to millionaires” or whatever bullshit. By the time their 2000+ page bills are constructed, you can be sure any new tax will hit the middle class eventually. Maybe parasite isn’t a strong enough word for these people.
