Random Thought of the Day
It looks like the new Star Wars movie, Solo, is dramatically underperforming all other Star Wars movies so far even with a 4-day launch over a summer holiday weekend. I saw it. It wasn’t bad. I would rank it #9 of the 10 Star Wars movies. The poor results are not as much about the movie itself as the previous one, The Last Jedi, which was horribly unwatchable. Instead of entertaining, the writers seem to focus on creating a social-justice/diversity/politically-correct “message” movie that didn’t fit into the rest of the Star Wars universe from movies and books. Disney is slowly destroying the Star Wars franchise the same way it’s done with the once-great franchises of ESPN and ABC, and for the same reasons. Entertainment doesn’t matter. The fans don’t matter. It’s all about putting out liberal-approved scripts that reflect a world they want to exist rather than the one that does exist.

Quote of the Day
The big thing that hit me through all this was this is a backup quarterback whose job is to be quiet, and sit in the shadows and get the starter ready to play…yet he chose a time where all of a sudden he became the center of attention. And it has disrupted that organization. It has caused friction. And it’s torn at the fabric of the team. — Trent Dilfer discussing Colin Kaepernick shortly before he was fired by ESPN
